Diet Coke’s latest fashion make over

Jean Paul Gaultier has been busy with the fizzy designing limited edition bottles for Diet Coke.

This year, the brand revealed Gaultier as its new creative director so it was only natural for him to be next in line to create Coca Cola couture.

His two main designs take inspiration from his famous fragrances ‘Day’ and ‘Night’.

Bubbling with ideas, Gaultier designed a third bottle inspired by his love of body art to complete the collection.

Coca-Cola couture has been around since 2003 and some of fashion’s biggest names have taken a pop at designing signature Diet Coke collections.

Last summer, Karl Largerfeld worked his magic and created these fun and flirty bottles, using on trend colours teamed with his iconic silhouette.

In 2010 a coke-sized version of Gianfranco Ferre’s legendary, crisp, white shirt was recreated for his collection. Along with designs including his famous rich croc texture, an obi belt and signature pin.

Versace designed an eccentric collection for their Diet Coke collaboration in 2009; unique and colourful to match their style.

In 2008 Roberto Cavalli dressed his bottles with animal prints in true Cavalli style.

Your hair snoozes, your hair loses

New research has shown that baldness could be the result of sleeping hair follicles.

Experts at L’Oreal say hair follicles are having 40 winks, which means new hair doesn’t grown, leading to thinning.

However Dr Bruno Bernard, head of research at L’Oreal, has declared the company will develop a new cream or shampoo to encourage hair to carry on growing.

Could help Prince William's thinning hair

Hair follicles exist in two states, active or dormant, which means they can flit from state to state sporadically. In the dormant state, hair follicles need a signal to start making new hair. They’re in a latency period, reducing this state of limbo will result in more hair.

L’Oreal has made a formula that can be applied to the scalp and, like an alarm clock, wake the follicle up from its slumber.

Although this won’t stop people from going completely bald, as eventually hair follicles lose the ability to make new hair; this new process could dramatically reduce the rate of baldness.

Almost half of men in the UK suffer from hair loss and thinning of the hair, along with eight million women.

If these findings from L’Oreal prove to be correct, it could help people slow down the balding process and keep their luscious locks for longer.

Tennis elbow dampening your Wimbledon spirits?

The prestigious Wimbledon opened its gates yesterday.

The first day already brought shocking results as Venus Williams lost in the opening round, for the first time since her debut in 1997.

There are promising predictions for Britain, as Heather Watson won straight sets andMurray madness taking over.

With more heated matches to come, this year Wimbledon is going to be a nail biter.

If it’s inspired you to pick up a racket, then tennis is a great way to exercise, using shoulder, arms and legs muscles with the need for tactical thinking. It’s a great body and mind work out.

However, care must be taken when playing tennis - common problems can be aches and pains through your shoulders and calves along with the famous tennis elbow.

Don’t let these pains stop your chances of becoming a tennis pro. The Bowen Technique can ease muscle pain and aches. It’s drug-free, non-invasive, hands-on remedial therapy.

The Bowen Practitioner makes small, rolling movements over muscles, tendons and ligaments at precise points on the body.

Bowen asks the body to recognise the change, rather than to demand the body to change. Treatment takes about half an hour to an hour, dependant on condition and severity.

Between each series of moves, the body rests for a few minutes to absorb the information and begins the healing process.

“Hats up, ma’am” – fashion police at Royal Ascot 2012

Today the gates open for the Royal Ascot 2012, if you’re lucky enough to go of course.

If you are, I hope your attire matches the strict dress code put in place this year.

This is due to a trend of wacky outfits and larger than life hats; perusing these can be a sport within itself.

Organisers have arranged special ‘fashion police’ armed with pashminas, hats and coats to stop any offenders in their tracks.

There’s always been a dress code at Royal Ascot, in previous years this has included no showing midriffs and no mini skirts, but this year the rules are much stricter.

Women are expected to wear skirts or dresses that fall just above the knee or longer.

Dresses that expose shoulders and strapless or spaghetti strap dresses are banned.

The rules are more stringent if you’re lucky enough to sip champagne in the Royal enclosure - fascinators are not acceptable, only hats and headpieces.

If you’re in the grandstand which is open to the public, a hat or fascinator is now compulsory.

Don’t think men get off lightly either, they must wear a black or grey morning dress, which must include a waistcoat, tie and black shoes, cravats are not acceptable.

By implementing these fashion rules, they’re eliminating a lot of the fun out of Ascot - catching sight of the outrageous outfits.

I suppose we’ll just have to watch it for the races, oh and the celebrity spotting -  with the Royal family guaranteed to make an appearance, along with a bevy of celebrities.

Break the aching cycle of biking – Bike Week 2012

Dust off your helmet and get out your cycling gear as this week is National Bike Week!

Sponsored by Samsung, Bike Week is the UK’s biggest mass participation cycling occasion with events up and down the country.

From 16th – 24th June, over half a million people will take part in events for all abilities; from families, schools and companies, to seasoned cyclists and those who have never cycled before.

You can find a Samsung Bike Week event near you by using the Event Search Tool.

However, be prepared for the stiff calves and aching thighs in the morning.

Even an Olympic-style stretch beforehand doesn’t always prevent those next-day pangs that suppress any kind of movement.

The Bowen Technique works to heal sporting injuries and muscular problems in an extremely gentle but effective way.

Bowen is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive, complementary therapy that 'asks' the body to recognise the ailment and make the changes it requires as opposed to ‘forcing’ the body change.

During the 30-60 minute treatment, the Bowen practitioner makes small, rolling, movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue at precise points on the body, using only the amount of pressure appropriate for that individual.

No hard-tissue manipulation or force is needed or used.

Between each set of moves, the body is allowed to rest for a few minutes, to allow it to absorb the information it has received and initiate the healing process.

If you want to find out more about Samsung Bike Week, visit the website.

Simple Summer Hair (that's ACTUALLY simple)

When it's hot and sticky, the last thing you need is your hair acting like a thick blanket for your ears.

Scraping the whole lot back into an elastic band isn't always the most glamorous option, so we've spotted a great summer hairstyle that gets your hair out of your face and allows the nape of your neck to see the sunshine.

Granted, it would be nice if we actually got to see the sunshine some time soon.

The Simple Gibson Tuck is ideal for a chic summer wedding, lazy lounges on the beach or an al fresco lunch with friends.

Photographer, blogger (and saint) Sara Lynn Paige who shared this easy yet elegant style, talks us through an easy-to follow, how-to video on her website.

Meet the man helping the England squad beat the heat of Euro 2012 – with their hair.

He is the award-winning celebrity hair stylist that has just returned from Krakow, where he was trimming the tresses of the England football team.

Daniel Johnson is the guy Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe and Ashley Young - to name a few - regard as the best in the business.

The heat and humidity in Poland and Ukraine were set to hold England back, but some hot, in-house haircuts have kept the squad cool.

England Striker Danny Welbeck told the FA: “The heat will take it out of you.

"We had a barber come in and set up in Ashley Young's room, so there were quiet a few staff and players involved."

And that barber is Daniel who is renowned for pushing the boundaries and keeping footballers ahead of the game.

And it looks like his work is having great affects on the England team, after their 1-1 draw with France on Monday.

Spending the majority of his time making other guys look good, Daniel has chosen an easy yet slick style for himself.

Last year he opted for MHT® with HIS Hair Clinic.
Daniel refers to HIS Hair as ‘the world’s leading innovators in scalp pigmentation’.

He said: “I was absolutely blown away by the procedure itself and by my results.

“HIS has absolutely perfected MHT®, which is why I knew I was in safe hands when I had my treatment.

“HIS Hair has given me a buzzed, sharp style that’s easy to maintain and makes me feel good.

“I was slightly conscious of where I was starting to go bald but I mostly had this treatment as part of my grooming routine.”

Award Winning Celebrity Hair Stylist praises HIS Hair

I’m Daniel Johnson and I’m eager to share the superb experience I had with the world’s leading innovators in scalp pigmentation – HIS Hair.

My job is to make other guys look good; my clients include Ashley Young, Mario Balotelli, Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe.

I am always on the look out for new products and treatments for my clients, so when I came across HIS Hair and spoke to Nicki I have to confess I was completely sold and booked in for a consultation there and then.

I thought it was about time somebody else made my hair look good.

I had my consultation at HIS Hair’s Harley Street clinic with the co-founders Ian and Ranbir and within a week I was having my first treatment.

I was absolutely blown away by the procedure itself and by my results.

HIS has absolutely perfected the Micro Hair Technique (MHT®), which is why I knew I was in safe hands when I had my treatment.

HIS Hair has given me a buzzed, sharp style that’s easy to maintain and makes me feel good.

I was slightly conscious of where I was starting to go bald but I mostly had this treatment as part of my grooming routine.

The HIS team are slick, professional, knowledgeable and extremely welcoming.

I’ve had complements from some of my clients about my hair which gives me a great buzz (pun unintended).

From a hair stylist’s point of view, I think the treatment looks unbelievably natural and I’ve been left with a look that really works for me.

To anyone considering having this treatment, go for it. I’d highly recommend HIS Hair Clinic, their work speaks for itself.

World's fastest man in car crash

Three-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt was involved in a car crash shortly before dawn yesterday morning.

He was returning home from a friend’s party in the Jamaican capital, Kingston when he lost control of his BMW and crashed it into a guard rail.

Bolt’s publicist said: “He is fine and resting at home.”

Bowen Therapy could not only help the Olympic star with his sporting injuries but any harm suffered in his accident.

The Bowen Technique is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive, complementary therapy that can help whiplash, muscle problems and sports injuries.

Rather than 'making' the body change, Bowen 'asks' the body to recognise the ailment and make the changes it requires.

During the 30-60 minute treatment, the Bowen practitioner makes small, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue at precise points on the body, using only the amount of pressure appropriate for that individual.

No hard tissue or manipulation is used or needed.

Between each set of moves, the body is allowed to rest for a few minutes, to allow it to absorb the information it has received and initiate the healing process.

Bowen is an extremely relaxing experience and can also aid any stress the stroke survivor may be feeling.

If you have had a stroke, or are caring for somebody who has, and are interested in how Bowen Therapy can help you visit the website to find a Bowen therapist near you or call 0844 561 7173.
